Agua De Jamaica (Ruby Red Hibiscus Flower Water) Recipe | Print |

Makes approximately 2 quarts 
 
Ingredients:  
2 quarts water
2 cups dried Jamaica Flowers
1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
2 limes

Method/Steps:
Procedure: Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add the flowers, reduce the heat and simmer with cover slightly askew, for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool for 15 minutes. Strain the Jamaica liquid through a sieve lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter to trap any possible sediment. While still warm, add the sugar and stir to dissolve. Refrigerate. Serve in tall, clear glasses to flaunt the vibrant color and put a slice of bright green lime on each glass rim. Or you can use this as a base for sangria!
