Salsa Verde Con Aguacate (Raw Tomatillo and Avocado Salsa) Recipe | Print |

Serves 8

Ingredients:
1 garlic clove chopped
4 chile serrano
1 teaspoon kosher salt
20 small tomatillos – husks removed, rinsed well and cut into quarters
½ cup cilantro leaves chopped
3 Tablespoons onion chopped
1 avocado cut into ¼ inch cubes to garnish

Method/Steps:
Procedure: In a molcajete*, mash the garlic and chilies with salt. Use a pestle until you have a smooth mixture. Add the tomatillos and crush the mixture a little bit more. Add the chopped cilantro and combine all of the ingredients well and garnish with chopped onion and avocado cubes.

Serve: Serve with home fried tortilla chips. You can also use it for grilled meat or fish.

*If you do not have a molcajete, this task can be accomplished by processing the ingredients in a Cuisinart or blender.
