Singles Meet, Mingle, Cook and Dine Together in San Francisco, Chicago and Portland

San Francisco, CA October 16, 2012 - Parties That Cook®, the mobile culinary events company specializing in corporate team building activities and hands-on cooking parties, heats up the singles scene with cooking mixers exclusively for Match.com members. These hands-on cooking classes are part of Match.com’s new “Stir” event series, and are currently offered in San Francisco, Chicago and Portland.

“We’ve hosted a number of successful cooking classes for singles in the past, which made for an effortless partnership with Match.com,” said Bibby Gignilliat, Founder and CEO of Parties That Cook. “Cooking together transforms participants from shy strangers into loquacious, laughing teammates who bond with each other like old friends. People appreciate the opportunity to meet face-to-face with many potential matches at once. Even if they don’t find their match, attendees come away well-fed and thrilled to have learned so much about cooking.”

The Match.com Stir events are similar to Parties That Cook’s classic “Sumptuous Small Plates” format, where guests are greeted with a glass of wine, snacks, and ice breakers. After a period of introductions and mingling, guests enjoy a lively cooking demonstration featuring culinary tips and tricks related to the evening’s recipes. The guests are then split into smaller groups cooking together as they prepare dinner. To further encourage mixing, the men rotate through all five cooking stations throughout the evening, giving everyone a chance to interact and meet. The event concludes with a cocktail-style reception while attendees share a meal of international small plates. Recipes and digital photos are emailed to the guests after each event so participants can remember the evening.

With past events resulting in multiple marriages, Parties That Cook is an expert in stirring up romance in the kitchen. Match.com attendee Tamara S. said, “I attended an event and met the love of my life that night. He helped with the salt roasted prawns and made sure to offer me a taste. We started dating in early November, and by early December we were in Paris together for five days. Needless to say we fell in love.”

Match.com has taken “Stir” nationwide, executing over 300 events in 80 US markets in the month of September. More than 20 Parties That Cook cooking classes have been scheduled this year across three markets. “We are thrilled with how successful these cooking events have been with our members. As a mobile company, Parties that Cook has been able to create unique and exciting hands-on cooking experiences that have helped even more singles connect,” says Navin Ramachandran, GM of Match.com Stir.
