Parties That Cook®, the nation’s premier corporate team building event and private cooking party company, reports record annual revenue in a shaky economy
San Francisco, CA December 21, 2011 - Parties That Cook® reported annual YTD revenue topping $2 million for the first time since inception. Annual revenue projections for 2011 show a 13% growth over 2010 and 101% growth over 2009. During 2 years of strategic planning and budgeting in an unstable economy, Parties That Cook achieved this milestone by streamlining operations, implementing new processes for event logistics and investing in marketing. The company also developed detailed training programs for chefs and field staff. According to Parties That Cook founder and CEO, Bibby Gignilliat, “Tough times provide a great opportunity to reevaluate and streamline systems and processes.”
In addition to this financial milestone, the San Francisco Business Times ranked Parties That Cook #56 in the Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies of 2011. Gignilliat commented, “We feel fortunate to have experienced growth in this challenging and unpredictable economy. We are also honored to have been acknowledged by the San Francisco Business Times.”
With more than 12 years of experience planning hands-on cooking parties and corporate team building activities, Parties That Cook remained committed to innovation throughout 2011. Seeing an increasing popularity of GPS scavenger hunts, Parties That Cook partnered with ex-Microsoft executive John Chen, whose company, PlayTime Inc., hosts corporate Geoteaming events. Together, Parties That Cook and Playtime offer exhilarating events incorporating a scavenger hunt and cooking competition. To accommodate clients with tighter budgets, Parties That Cook created new event product, Cupcake Wars. This dessert-focused baking competition was an important tool for capturing business that might not have been able to afford a Parties That Cook event this year.
Parties That Cook widened its reach in September by launching event services in Portland, Oregon, its 4th and newest market. As in existing markets, San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle, Parties That Cook stages group cooking classes and innovative corporate events in private homes and professional kitchens throughout the Portland area. A couple of months later, Parties That Cook successfully released its 2nd recipe deck cookbook, More Sumptuous Small Plates , adding an additional revenue stream before the holidays.
In addition to these revenue-generating milestones, Parties That Cook was proud to earn certification by B Corp, an organization that certifies and promotes transparency in social and environmental performance standards, higher legal accountability, and builds business constituency for good business. “We became a B Corp to be part of a community of businesses that are proving you can be successful while taking care of people and planet. Parties That Cook is proud to be part of a community that fosters this new way of thinking in business practices,” says Gignilliat.
