Gourmet Dating Brings Chicago Singles Together to Meet and Eat
CHICAGO (August, 2006) Are you ready for blind-date cooking? Parties That Cook™ turns up the heat with Gourmet Dating, an upscale culinary event where guests learn new cooking techniques, eat fabulous food, and meet other fun Chicago singles.
Parties That Cook invite singles to participate in an exciting hands-on cooking party at the teaching kitchen in the Belden-Stratford Hotel, in Lincoln Park. Guests are greeted at the door with a nibble and nametag. After an introductory cooking lesson that features tips such as the fastest way to dice an onion without a tear, guests are divided into co-ed cooking teams. Each team works on a recipe from the evening's seasonal gourmet menu among flowing wine and upbeat music. The group then savors the "fruits" of their labor with new friends! After the event, copies of the recipes, digital photos, and e-mail address aliases are sent to the group.
"Cooking is an ideal icebreaker. Because guests are focusing on cooking together, it takes the pressure away from making small talk," notes Chef/Owner Bibby Gignilliat. "And nothing brings people together better than cooking, wine and music. Our guests give me great feedback and I even know of a marriage that resulted from one of our Gourmet Dating Parties!"
Parties That Cook designs fresh seasonal menus for each event. Guests do not need cooking experience to attend. Gourmet Dating is held at the Belden-Stratford Hotel, 2300 N. Lincoln Park West, Chicago at 6:30 PM one Thursday evening each month. Tickets are $75 per person.
